Eli Sanchez, a resident of Tyler, Texas, and a baseball coach with USA Prime East Texas has tragically passed away. He was announced dead in a social media post that read “We lost a special person. Coach Eli passed away early this morning. Eli absolutely loved the ball field, he was more competitive than anyone you could ever meet. He loved our kids and was just a kid himself. The Prime Family is praying for all of his current players, his former players, and the Sanchez family. Coach Eli was just 19 years old.”

Seferino Bautista-Renteria, the 35-year-old owner of Bautista Auto Sales, shot 19-year-old Rawly Sanchez to death in the 3700 block of Hwy 271 N., close to Tyler. A Smith County July 4th celebration took a tragic turn. Around 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a reported shooting close to Tyler. According to the initial dispatch information, a Tyler hospital had received a shooting victim. Although the specifics of the incident are still being worked out, authorities have verified that one person has died and another has been taken into custody.
Who was Eli Sanchez?
Eli Sanchez was a graduate of Tyler High School where he played for the Tyler Rebels. He was also a member of the Tyler Varsity Baseball Team. Although he had a sharp mind and a strong will, many would contend that Eli’s large heart will always be remembered the most. He was the one who would cry sentimental tears first. He was the kind of person who would volunteer their time and assistance to others without asking anything in return.
Eli nephew Randi Sanchez in a social media post said “My heart is so so broken! My nephew Eli my brother Rawly’s son gained his wings. I can not believe someone took his life. He had such a big heart for everyone and If you knew him you just couldn’t help but just love him.” Randi also said “He brought so many laughs and joy to everyone he was around. Only 19 years old!! Why Why Why did this have to happen!! Eli Sanchez you will be so missed. Forever in my heart!! Just can’t believe this!! Shocked!”
