CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — School officials say a group of elementary school students may have witnessed a shooting while on the bus in west Charlotte.
Principal Mazzone of Reid Park Academy sent a letter to parents saying that students “unfortunately witnessed a couple of people shooting at each other on the corner of West Boulevard and Tyvola.”
Medical personnel responded to the 2500 block of West Blvd in response to a shooting and transported one person with life-threatening injuries.

Mazzone assures that no students were involved in the incident and everyone made it home safely.
Administration and student services will meet with all the students Wednesday morning. Counseling services will be available for students and their families.
“As always, the safety, security, and well-being of our students and staff is a top priority, and we appreciate your continued support of Reid Park.”
