Edward Hyun Kang Obituary, Death; – The California Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into a fatal collision that took place on Sunday morning involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
According to the CHP, at approximately 4:28 a.m., a black Mercedes A220 was traveling in the westbound direction on Espinosa Road, just east of Highway 183. Simultaneously, a 42-year-old man from Moraga was present in the same lane heading west, for reasons unknown.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian found himself directly in the path of the oncoming Mercedes, leaving the driver with no opportunity to avoid the collision. As a result, the front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian. Following the incident, the Mercedes continued its westward journey before coming to a stop in an agricultural field. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the ongoing investigation, as confirmed by the CHP.
Tragically, the pedestrian, identified as Edward Hyun Kang of Moraga, was pronounced dead at the scene by the CHP. Fortunately, the driver of the Mercedes did not sustain any injuries. At present, no arrests have been made in connection with this incident, according to the CHP.
