Ebonique Farris Obituary, – A 23-year-old man from Nashville has been charged with criminal homicide following his admission to investigators that he fatally shot a 17-year-old girl on Sunday at Cumberland View Homes in North Nashville.
The suspect, Anthony L. Brooks, surrendered himself to the authorities on Sunday night and confessed to shooting Ebonique Farris at approximately 2:15 p.m. that same day. The shooting occurred after an argument between the two individuals in the courtyard of the apartment complex, as stated by the police.
According to an arrest affidavit, a family member of Brooks handed over the firearm to the police. Following the shooting, Farris was immediately transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries.
Regrettably, Farris is the 14th teenager to lose their life this year and the sixth to be slain within the past three weeks in Nashville. Throughout the entirety of 2023, a total of 18 homicide victims have been identified as teenagers. Police have reported that Farris is the second teenager to be killed within a week.
