Kevin Self Cause of Death: Dwight Kevin Self of Muscle Shoals, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 64 on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 14, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Redemption Shoals Church. The funeral service will immediately follow at the church. Interment will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
“I am shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Kevin Self. A legend in radio and the absolute best voice around. I will forever be grateful for Kevin and everything he did for me. Our community has lost a great one,” a tribute post shared on Facebook said.
“I sure hated to hear the news about our friend and MSCS-supporter Kevin Self. He was a class act, and super talented. He served as emcee at numerous school functions, including the Rachel Wammack benefit concert for the band last May. His kids came through our school system and are making their mark in college and a career now. We offer our sincere condolences to the family and will always have fond memories of Kevin and that awesome voice of his,” Chad Holden said in a Facebook post.
Muscle Shoals is the largest city in Colbert County, Alabama, United States. It is located on the left bank of the Tennessee River in the northern part of the state and, as of the 2010 census, its population was 13,146. The estimated population in 2019 was 14,575.
