A devastating crash on the Newell Highway, 30 kilometers south-west of Dubbo, New South Wales, has claimed the lives of four people. The accident occurred around 9:20 PM on Friday, when two vehicles collided. Two men in their twenties, and an older man and woman, tragically died at the scene. One driver was taken to Dubbo Hospital with leg injuries. Police have established a crime scene, and the Newell Highway remains closed as investigations continue.
Road Closures and Diversions
The Newell Highway will be closed for some time, with Tomingley Road and Mitchell Highway set as detours. However, these routes are unsuitable for B-Triple and AB Triple heavy vehicles, which are advised to park until further notice.
