Matthew Latacha Death – Following the fatal accident that happened on 252nd Street and Rainwood Road, north of Valley, at around 10:15 in the morning, Dr Matthew Latacha was pronounced dead. He passed away after his bicycle was hit by a car near Valley, Nebraska. Dr. Matthew Latacha, 47 years old, a cardiologist at Methodist Health System and a native of Omaha, has been identified as the bicyclist who was involved in the accident. Since 2009, he has been working at Methodist, and he had just recently finished his 1,000th procedure there. Since 2009, Dr. Latacha has been a member of the medical staff of Methodist Hospital. He is both a cardiologist and an electrophysiologist, and he has been praised for his talent and compassion.
He has served in a variety of leadership capacities and been a driving force behind the implementation of numerous innovative processes within the health system, most notably the Watchman. Family members, friends and the entire Methodist Health System team mourn his death.

He was well respected, admired and loved by patients, colleagues and staff. We know that he has touched the lives of literally thousands of patients through his clinical and surgical practices.
