Donald Steven Ricker Obituary, Death; – A bicyclist lost his life in a hit-and-run incident on U.S. 70 in Catawba County on Friday evening, according to state troopers.
The incident occurred on U.S. 70 close to 4th Street NW at approximately 9 p.m. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol reported that the cyclist was heading east when he was struck by a driver who subsequently fled the scene.
The victim, identified as 58-year-old Donald Steven Ricker, succumbed to his injuries at the site of the accident.
Authorities suspect that the vehicle involved may be a Ford pickup truck manufactured between 2018 and 2020, or potentially a Ford Mustang.
