In January 2023, deputies from Lauderdale County were dispatched to a residence on County Road 5 in response to a domestic dispute involving a father and his son. The individual who made the call alleged that the son was in possession of a knife. Upon investigation, authorities discovered the lifeless body of Donald Edward Goode in the living room of the house. He had sustained a visible knife wound to his neck. The judge has not yet announced a specific date for the sentencing.
