Donald Crowder Obituary, Death – Donald Ray Crowder, who was 91 years old and lived in Kingman, Arizona, passed away early on the morning of September 16, 2023. On October 6, 1931, he was born in Kingman, Indiana, to the late Eston D. and Mary E. (Massey) Crowder. His parents have now passed away. Don attended Kingman High School and received his diploma in 1949.
He then joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country from 1950 to 1954. throughout that time, he was assigned to the USS Oakhill and served aboard it throughout the Korean War.
He spent 46 of his working years at General Motors in the millwright trade. He had a strong interest in automobiles, and racing was one of his favorite spectator sports. Both riding his bike and watching Kingman were two of his favorite things to do.
Don is survived by his daughter, Jill (Joe) Gee of Covington; his brother, Bill Crowder of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, Carly (Danny) Stevens, Bryan Chandler, Chandler Petrus, Cassy (Craig) Richardson, Lindsey Crowder, Baylie Gee, and Blake Gee; and nine great grandchildren, Farrah, Isabelle, Xavier, Fionna, Feebey, Cate, Colt, and Adi. His parents, his son, Jeff Crowder, and an infant brother all passed away before he did. He was the oldest of three children.
On Friday, September 22, 2023, visitation will be held at Sanders Funeral Care, located at 203 S 1st Street in Kingman, beginning at 1:00 pm and continuing until the time of the funeral service, which will begin at 3:00 pm. Pastor Steve Crum will officiate the service.
After the service, the deceased will be laid to rest in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Navy.
