An online obituary on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 announced the sudden death of Beechy, Saskatchewan resident Don Watt. However, Don’s cause of death was not immediately mentioned.
The announcement of Don’s death was flooded by heartfelt tributes and condolences across social media. He will be sorely missed.

In 1997, Hendrickson wed Whitney. 2008 saw the creation of the Saratoga Backstretch Appreciation Program by Whitney and Hendrickson. It planned free activities like movie nights and dinners to support the backstretch workers.
Hendrickson had already relocated to Florida from New York. In 2017, he was appointed as the National Museum of Racing Board Chair. In addition, he worked as Alaska Governor Walter Hickel’s assistant and coached professional tennis.
In 1989, Hendrickson made an appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in a piece about Alaskan males seeking marriage. The Buffalo News published an item on December 10, 1997, stating that he had met Whitney on one of her sledding expeditions.
In secret, the couple wed in October 1997. She was 71 years old, and Hendrickson was 32. For a while, the two oversaw Whitney Industries.
