Dion Allen Death – Louisiana State Police reported that a Lettsworth resident passed away in a collision involving two vehicles on Hwy 107 on May 28 at approximately 11 p.m. The incident involved a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban traveling eastbound on Hwy 3128. Upon reaching the intersection with Hwy 107, the driver of the Chevrolet failed to stop at the active flashing red light, causing the vehicle to enter the southbound lane of Hwy 107 where it was struck by a southbound 2007 Nissan Murano.
The driver of the Chevrolet, who sustained moderate injuries, was taken to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, the passenger, identified as Dion Allen, 49, did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Both individuals were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
On the other hand, the driver and two passengers of the Nissan were wearing seatbelts and only suffered minor injuries.
Samples for routine toxicology testing were collected and sent for further analysis.
