Diedra Evon Preston Obituary, Death; – Authorities have disclosed the identity of a young woman who lost her life in a collision that also resulted in injuries to four others, including two children.
On Thursday, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed the victim as 23-year-old Diedra Evon Preston. Emergency services, including Center Point Fire and Rescue and Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies, were called to the scene at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday following reports of a multi-vehicle accident.
Battalion Chief Chris Horn indicated that the incident occurred in the northbound lane of the 2900 block of Pinson Valley Parkway. Preston was declared deceased at the scene at 7:12 p.m. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates noted that she was a passenger in one of the involved vehicles.
Two children were transported to Children’s of Alabama, along with two adults. The extent of the injuries sustained by the survivors has not yet been determined.
