Diane Zugenbuhler Obituary, Death; – The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department has confirmed the identities of the individuals who lost their lives in a collision earlier this week, which was linked to a street racing event.
The incident occurred on Monday morning in the southern part of Kansas City, specifically at the intersection of Wornall Road and Carondelet Drive. A Chrysler 300 and a Dodge Charger were engaged in a race heading south on Wornall Road, starting from 99th Street.
During the race, the Chrysler collided with a Honda that was making a left turn from Wornall onto Carondelet Drive. The driver of the Chrysler sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Tragically, the driver and passenger of the Honda, who were not participants in the street race, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. They have been identified as 72-year-old Diane Zugenbuhler and her 91-year-old husband.
In response to the dangers posed by street racing and related activities, the Kansas City Police Department has implemented measures to combat these issues. Recently, the department introduced an email system that allows witnesses to report incidents and directly connect with police patrols. A spokesperson for KCPD informed FOX4 on Tuesday that investigators are collaborating with prosecutors to assess potential charges.
