Deputy Martin Shields Jr Obituary, Death; – Law enforcement agencies and public officials have extended their sympathies to the family, friends, and colleagues of a Hinds County deputy who lost his life while serving.
Deputy Martin Shields Jr., aged 37, was fatally shot on Sunday while responding to a domestic disturbance in Terry alongside another deputy. Although Shields had only been with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department for nine months, he brought prior law enforcement experience to the role.
