Delanio M Vick,Timothy G Williams Jr Obituary, Death; – Two men who were shot outside an Old Dominion University dining hall late Wednesday have died, police said.
Police identified the victims as Delanio M. Vick, 18, and Timothy G. Williams Jr., 20. Both were Norfolk residents, but were not affiliated with the university, according to a release from police. Police have not said whether they have identified any suspects.
Officers from the Old Dominion University and Norfolk police departments were called around 9:40 p.m. to a shooting in the 1400 block of 49th Street, which is where Broderick Dining Hall is located.
There, they found Vick and Williams suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds in a parking lot next to the dining hall. Both were taken to a hospital.
Old Dominion University sent out two “Urgent Alerts” through text message to ODU students and staff. The first, just after 10 p.m., said ODU police were investigating a shooting. “Suspect is at large. Remain indoors at this time.”
A second alert was sent at 11:43 p.m.: “The shelter-in-place is lifted. Normal activities can resume. Police presence remains in the area.”
