Thomas Kanzelberger of Steubenville, Ohio, has died. The death of Thomas Kanzelberger (’23) earlier this evening shocks and saddens us. Thomas will be greatly missed since he was actively involved in the CCHS community. The kids will assemble at the school for a rosary. If you can join them, please do so. Thomas Kanzelberger, who was a student at the Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art, died yesterday. After completing his first year at Catholic University, Thomas was getting ready to start his second year. Thomas, who was 19 years old, was majoring in music with an emphasis on directing and performing. In his native town of Steubenville, Ohio, he graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School in 2023. Thomas was an ardent Catholic with an immense love for Jesus who served as an inspiration to a great number of students. Many people in the school adored him, and his happy disposition was contagious.

This Thursday at 7 PM, Father Michael Gossett and Mrs. Stueve will be holding an adoration to pray and honor the life of Thomas Kanzelberger. In Wintersville, at Blessed Sacrament Church, there will be adoration. Come pray and celebrate the life of such a devoted and caring person—students, professors, alumni, and other loved ones are invited.
Any kid who wants to communicate can speak with someone or pray with them.
When the students have returned to campus in the autumn, the university will have a memorial mass for Thomas. We will notify you again as soon as we obtain details on Thomas’s funeral
