Julie Ann le Roux Obituary, Death – age 33, of Marion, NC, tragically passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, as a result of the devastating floods caused by Hurricane Helene. Her passing has left an immense void in the lives of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her radiant spirit.
Born on May 8, 1991, in El Paso, TX, to Alvin Henry le Roux and Jean Mary Kloeckl le Roux of Jesup, GA, Julie displayed a natural artistic talent from an early age. She had a unique ability to see the beauty and light in everything around her, which she channeled into her art. Her creations were more than mere expressions of talent; they were reflections of her free spirit and deep appreciation for the world’s inherent beauty. Julie’s artwork was a testament to her ability to find joy and wonder in even the simplest aspects of life, and her art touched all who had the privilege of experiencing it.
But Julie was more than just an artist—she was a wildflower, a free spirit who embraced life with a sense of adventure. She loved exploring new places, trying new activities, and making memories with those she loved. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious, and her adventurous heart was matched by her kindness and generosity. Julie had a rare gift for making others feel seen, loved, and appreciated. Her compassionate nature and open heart endeared her to everyone she met.
Julie’s family was at the center of her life. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and made their happiness and well-being her top priority. Her unwavering support and encouragement were constant sources of strength for her family, who now feel the profound loss of her presence.
Preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Christiaan Henri le Roux and Jean E. le Roux, her maternal grandfather, Roger Kloeckl, and her future father-in-law, John Howard Norwood II, Julie is survived by her loving fiancé, John Norwood III of Marion, NC, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond. Her siblings, Andrea Yates (Taylor), Jennifer West (Jared), and Alvin le Roux (Kati), will forever cherish their memories of her, as will her nieces and nephews, to whom she was lovingly known as “Aunt Lulie.” Julie is also survived by her future mother-in-law, Margaret Norwood, and her future sister-in-law, Maggy Norwood. Her beloved cats, Lily and Ginger, brought her great joy and comfort.
A celebration of Julie’s life will be announced at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory. Julie’s legacy of love, kindness, and artistic brilliance will continue to inspire all who knew her. Psalm 66:20 encapsulates her spirit: “Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.”
