According to the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Monday, October 14th, around 3:30 p.m. Deputies responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision on County Road 46 (160th Street West) near Biscayne Avenue in Rosemount.
Witnesses reported that David was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion eastbound on County Road 46 when he attempted to pass a semi-truck in a no-passing zone. As he moved into the westbound lane, he collided head-on with a 2014 Lincoln MKX driven by Dennis Dahlstrom, who was traveling with passenger Sandra Dahlstrom. Both drivers swerved onto the north shoulder simultaneously, resulting in the tragic collision.
Both David Rosas and Dennis Dahlstrom sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. Sandra Dahlstrom suffered critical injuries and was transported to the hospital. Several heroic bystanders stopped to assist the victims before first responders arrived, showcasing the compassion of the community during this devastating event.
In the wake of this tragedy, David’s brother, Alfredo Rosas, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral expenses. The family is deeply appreciative of any support during this difficult time.
