Cayden Mahr Bushnell, IL Obituary, Death: Cayden Daniel Mahr, our son, brother, grandchild, and friend, died on October 5, 2024, and we mourn his loss. Cayden Daniel Mahr, 23, was born in Peoria, Illinois, on June 14, 2001. He graduated from A-Town High School in 2019 and went on to receive an associate’s degree in Diesel and Power Systems Technology from Spoon River College.
Cayden participated in football, basketball, and FFA during his high school career. As the team’s only senior, Cayden led A-Town to a 20-9 season record, earning him the 2019 All-Area Boys Basketball Player of the Year award. He was FFA president and obtained the FFA State Degree.
Cayden enjoyed every part of life. He’s always been a diligent worker who enjoyed farming, trucking, and boating. Cayden was in his prime while boating on Little Swan Lake, the Ozarks, or the Gulf of Mexico. He was an excellent water skier. During the winter, he enjoyed snowmobiling and skiing.
Cayden passed his CDL test just after turning 18. He rose to become a skilled, talented, and varied member of the family’s Hiel Trucking management team. Farming was his main passion. At a young age, he began working at Blout Farms with his father, uncle, and grandfather. Cayden was actually capable of doing everything. He was able to operate any machine that had a key. He was the proud proprietor of Prairie Brothers Farms. His smile was contagious. It may have put him in some trouble, but it kept him out of a lot more!
