Deana Viano Obituary, Death;- A woman has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence following the fatal incident involving a 66-year-old pedestrian last month in Peoria.

Savanna M. L. Shriber, 27, whose residence is recorded in Shabbonna, Illinois, faces felony aggravated DUI charges along with two misdemeanor DUI counts after the tragic event that occurred near the intersection of Knoxville Avenue and East Orchard Place on March 19. Deana Viano was declared dead at the scene that evening after law enforcement responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood indicated that Viano likely succumbed instantly to multiple blunt force injuries resulting from the collision. Court records from the Peoria County Circuit Clerk’s Office reveal that Shriber was initially arrested on a single DUI charge on the night of Viano’s death. However, the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office subsequently filed additional charges on March 20, including the felony aggravated DUI.

Shriber has been permitted to remain free until her trial. As of April 16, no further charges have been brought against her.
