David Vang, Laina Lee Obituary – Vang and Lee, aged 46 and 48 respectively, were fatally shot during a welfare check conducted by the Mandeville Police Department on Friday. The incident took place at a residence on Heavens Drive, where Lee was found screaming. As she ran outside to alert the officers about a man threatening her, Vang emerged and proceeded to shoot her multiple times, as reported by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Following a failed attempt to subdue Vang with a Taser and a subsequent refusal to drop his weapon, an officer opened fire on Vang when he aimed the gun at them. Both Vang and Lee were taken to a hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
