David Tanton Obituary, – A man from Beaumont, aged 65, passed away on Sunday following a collision with a driver on Interstate 10 in the early hours of Sunday morning. Beaumont Police responded to a call about a pedestrian being hit on Interstate 10 North at around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a man in the roadway. The man was later identified as David Tanton, 65, of Beaumont, by Jefferson County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Ben Collins, Sr. Following an investigation, it was determined that a driver traveling north in heavy rain struck Tanton as he attempted to cross the interstate.
