David Rosas Car Accident, Owatonna Obituary: A Minnesota teenager and student at Eastview High School tragically died in a double fatal car accident that also left 81-year-old Sandra Dahlstrom of Champaign, Illinois dead.
According to the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, October 14th at approximately 3:30 p.m. Dakota County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a two-vehicle head-on crash on County Road 46 (160th Street West) near Biscayne Avenue in the City of Rosemount.
Witnesses reported a 2012 Ford Fusion, driven by David Rosas (15) of Rosemount, traveling east on County Road 46 near Biscayne Avenue. Rosas was behind a semi-truck and pulled into the westbound lane in a no-passing zone in an attempt to pass.
Witnesses reported an oncoming westbound vehicle approaching approximately one-quarter of a mile away, a 2014 Lincoln MKX, driven by Dennis Dahlstrom (81) with passenger Sandra Dahlstrom (78) of Champaign, Illinois. Each driver swerved onto the north shoulder at the same time and collided.
The drivers, David Rosas and Dennis Dahlstrom sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased on the scene. The passenger of the Lincoln, Sandra Dahlstrom, sustained critical injuries and was transported to the hospital. In this tragedy, several heroic citizens stopped to aid the victims before first responders arrived.

David Rosas was 15 yo full of life and loved playing the guitar and drums, and praising God he was a wonderful son, brother, and uncle. If you could be so kind so help with any amount it would be greatly appreciated.
Sheriff Joe Leko thanked the entire department that responded to the scene. “We also thank those responding agencies who assisted in life-saving efforts; Rosemount Police Department, Rosemount Fire Department, Allina Health, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
We extend our deepest condolences to the victims’ families and friends involved in this tragic incident. This remains an open investigation. The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office is the lead investigative agency and is being assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol. Rosemount, Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Owatonna, Minnesota communities are mourning the tragic incident. 78-yea-old Sandra Dahlstrom (wife of the second victim) remains at the hospital.
