David Quinn Obituary –On March 25, 2024, David Michael Quinn, who was 77 years old and from Odessa, Missouri, passed away at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. The First Baptist Church, located at 100 OO Hwy, Odessa, Missouri 64076, will be the location of the visitation that will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Later, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at one o’clock in the afternoon, there will be a Celebration of Life held at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to the Care Package Inbound program at CPI (which provides backpacks for children who are transitioning out of foster care) or the home and family assistance program at First Baptist Church (I Love Odessa).

His parents, John Leo Quinn and Loretta M. (Heinisch) Quinn, were his parents.
It was at Hayden High School in Topeka that he received his diploma. Immediately following his graduation from high school, Mike enlisted in the United States Navy. During his time in the Navy, Mike was honored with the National Defense Service Medal and the First Good Conduct Award. On August 19, 1972, he and Marsha Kay Slocum exchanged their vows and became husband and wife in Topeka.
Mike retired from Ortho Clinical Diagnostics in 2009, after having worked there for a total of 33 years. Prior to joining the First Baptist Church in Odessa, he was a charter member of Rolling Meadows Christian Church. Subsequently, he eventually joined the First Baptist Church. During his time at First Baptist, Mike served as a volunteer for the Awanas and also taught Sunday School.
Mike was an extremely kind individual who always looked for the best in other people and was always willing to provide a helping hand. Mike was a man who, in addition to spending time with his family and friends, was a voracious reader, particularly of books that contained quotations. He also had a passion for learning new things, smoking a nice cigar, and having a deep affection for animals, particularly his dogs.
Mike’s wife of 51 years, Marsha Quinn, of Odessa, Missouri, is among those who survive him. He is also survived by his four children, Aaron Michael Quinn of Odessa, Missouri, Adrienne Anderson and her husband Stephen of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Joel David Quinn and his wife Michael Catherine of Ashland, Missouri, and Jessica Silvey and her husband Levi of Lenexa, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Nolan Anderson, Cora Quinn, Jane Anderson, Chloe Quinn, Noel Silvey, Felix Silvey, and Vivian Quinn; one sister, Marilyn Yeoman and her husband Frank of Topeka, Kansas; and a large number of relatives and friends.
