David Lapierre Obituary, Death – David was a member of the United States Army’s 1st Air Calvary Division and served his nation during the Vietnam War. He was honored with the Purple Heart as well as numerous medals of achievement for his service. Not only did David graduate with a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree from Westfield State College, but he also received a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies from that same educational establishment.
Over the course of more than twenty years, he was working at Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School in Palmer, where he served as the Assistant Superintendent for the nine years that he was there. For the past three years, David has been working as the Superintendent at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He has earned a great deal of respect from both the students and the faculty at this institution. In addition to being a voracious reader, David had a genuine passion for acquiring new knowledge and sharing it with his students.
Another one of David’s interests was flying, and he was in the process of constructing an experimental airplane at the time. Skydiving, skiing, and golfing were among his favorite activities, and he also raced stock cars. The American Association of School Administrators, the Experimental Aircraft Association, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and the Massachusetts Vocational Association, Inc. were all organizations that he was a member of. Additionally, he served as an officer for the organization.
All of David’s loved ones, including his wife Denise White-LaPierre, his two children Tara Robinson and Deana Huneke, both of New Egypt, New Jersey, his sister Kathleen and her husband John Banas of Warren, two brothers, Mark and his friend Nancy Bishop of Spencer and Keith of New York, and a grandson named Alex, will miss him terribly. There will be a memorial ceremony at noon and a reception to follow the celebration of David’s life, which will take place on Saturday at Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School.
