David Joel Luna Obituary – Emergency crews responded to a two-car crash in Salem late Thursday night, resulting in one fatality and one injury.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Kuebler Boulevard Southeast and Battle Creek Road Southeast, where a Honda sedan traveling eastbound on Kuebler Boulevard turned in front of a westbound Mercedes sedan, causing a collision.
The driver of the Honda, identified as 22-year-old David Joel Luna, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 20-year-old man from Salem, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
The crash caused a power outage in the area as one of the vehicles struck a utility box.
Portland General Electric is working to restore power. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests or citations have been made at this time.
