David Franklin Roland Obituary, Death;- A motorcyclist has lost his life following a collision involving two vehicles on Waikoloa Road on Friday evening.
Authorities in Hawaii have identified the deceased as 45-year-old David Franklin Roland. Police were alerted to the incident at approximately 9:16 p.m. near the 2-mile marker on Waikoloa Road, also known as Highway 191.
As reported by the police, Roland was riding a gray motorcycle in the eastbound direction within the westbound bicycle lane when he collided with a gray Jeep SUV traveling west. Roland was declared dead at the scene at 9:33 p.m.
The driver of the Jeep, a 45-year-old man, and his 43-year-old female passenger sustained no injuries. Law enforcement has commenced a coroner’s inquest investigation. This incident marks the 10th traffic fatality of the year, in contrast to 14 fatalities recorded at the same time last year.
