Daniel Stickney Obituary, Death – “Dan” Daniel C. Stickney, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 28th, as a result of injuries incurred from a fall that occurred in Kirkland, Washington. Peter and Suzann Stickney welcomed their son into the world on September 11, 1960 in Missoula, Montana. Among his siblings, he was the middle kid, along with his brother Mike and his sister Diana. His upbringing was in the Rattlesnake, and he received his high school education at Hellgate.
Dan received two degrees from Montana State University: one in Construction Engineering Technology and the other in Civil Engineering. Both of these degrees were related to engineering. Over the course of twenty years, he was employed at Morrison Knudsen Company. The following are some of the projects that he worked on during that time period: the widening of Interstate 80 in Auburn, California; Rocky Mountain Pump Storage in Rome, Georgia; the Confederation Bridge in Prince Edward Island, Canada; the E-470 Toll Road in Denver, Colorado; the San Roque Dam in San Manuel, Philippines; and the Olmstead Dam in Olmstead, Illinois.
Following his departure from MK, he employed himself at a number of local construction enterprises until concluding his professional career with SGX, a consulting partnership. The Springfield Fish Hatchery in Idaho, the Allison Creek Hydro in Valdez, Alaska, and the Temporary School Project in St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands were some of the interesting projects that he worked on during this time. Dan never hesitated to offer assistance to those in need, whether it was in the form of a repair or a fix. Every time, he was punctual.
White water rafting, skiing, bonfires, drinking beer, weeding, spending time in McCall, road tripping and most recently milling timber were some of the activities that he enjoyed doing. His wife of 31 years and 11 months, Michelle, as well as his two extraordinary daughters who offered him a great deal of happiness, are among his survivors. Jessica Tolman-Stickney (Tom) of Rapid City, South Dakota, Emily (Brett) of San Antonio, Texas, Father Peter of Missoula, Montana, Brother Mike (Debbie) of Butte, Montana, sister Diana Wood (Mark) of Victor, Montana, and Niece Sarah Henning (Josh & Junia) of Seattle, Washington are just some of the people who have passed away.
