Damian Wheaton Death — A man who is wanted for murder in connection to the slaying of a Merced resident on July 16 is currently the subject of an active search by the authorities.
Eruvey Deoro Muzquiz, age 27, has been named as a suspect in the shooting death of Damien Wheaton, age 47, according to the Merced Police Department. Detectives believe that Eruvey Deoro Muzquiz was involved in the shooting.
According to the police, Muzquiz is thought to have fled the scene, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
According to the authorities, Muzquiz has brown eyes and black hair and stands approximately six feet tall. He weighs approximately 200 pounds. At around 11:36 p.m. on July 16, law enforcement officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1200 block of R Street.
Wheaton was discovered to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when police officers arrived on the scene. Wheaton was pronounced dead at the site despite the efforts of first responders to save his life.
