Damian Haglund, 14-Year-Old Teenager Died in Tragic Mt Horeb School Fatal Shooting

The name of the student has been revealed. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel received confirmation of Haglund’s identity from more than six different individuals. These sources asked not to be identified because they were not authorized to comment on the subject they were discussing.
Mount Horeb Middle School was Haglund’s eighth grade school, and he was fourteen years old. Another person was not hurt in the situation that occurred. Josh Kaul, the Wisconsin attorney general, claimed during a news conference that evening in Mount Horeb that Mount Horeb police officers shot and killed the armed student. The student was never able to enter the learning environment.
According to Kaul, the Mount Horeb police officers who were engaged in the event have been placed on leave, which is a standard protocol following the use of lethal force by law enforcement. There was no mention of the number of cops who were engaged in the shooting by Kaul.
In addition, Kaul did not provide any information regarding whether or not the kid fired rounds at the authorities or whether or not the youngster stated that he would carry a pistol to school along with him. Additionally, Kaul refuses to share any previous interactions that the student may have had with law enforcement.
A warning that there was an active shooter at the middle school was made available to residents via an emergency alert that was sent to their phones late on Wednesday morning. The incident shocked the small community of 7,700 people Mount Horeb, which is located in Dane County, is roughly 40 minutes from Madison. The Mount Horeb Area School District includes five schools clustered together.
