Damarea Ethridge Arrested; Henderson’s police and fire departments responded to a fatal shooting early Friday morning. According to the Henderson Police Department, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. in the 300 block of Taylor Street, located near Boulder Highway and Lake Mead.
Authorities indicate that the investigation is still in its preliminary stages. The shooting took place at a party, resulting in a 24-year-old man sustaining gunshot wounds.
He later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The police have identified the suspect as 24-year-old Damarea Ethridge. He has been apprehended and booked into the Henderson Detention Center on multiple charges, including:
– 10 counts of Discharging a firearm within a structure or vehicle in a prohibited area
– 10 counts of Discharging a firearm or other weapon where individuals may be endangered
– 1 count of Open Murder with a Deadly Weapon
This incident marks the first homicide in Henderson for the year. Henderson officials stated, “The name of the deceased will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office once the next of kin has been notified. As this is an ongoing investigation, no additional details will be provided at this time.”
