Craig McKinsey Obituary, Death;- A man has died following a single-vehicle accident that took place in Randolph County on Monday night.
Deputies from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched at approximately 10:36 p.m. to the area of 1000 South, west of State Road 1, after receiving reports of a potentially fatal crash.
Upon arrival, deputies found a 2004 Dodge Ram that had collided with a tree. Authorities confirmed that the vehicle had only one occupant, identified as 25-year-old Craig McKinsey, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Randolph County Coroner’s Office verified that McKinsey was a resident of Losantville in Randolph County.
Preliminary investigations by the RCSD suggest that McKinsey may have lost control of his vehicle, causing it to slide off the south side of the road and strike a tree. The sheriff’s department indicated that icy road conditions were likely a contributing factor. The vehicle was traveling westbound on 1000 South from State Road 1 at the time of the incident.
The precise cause of the crash is still under investigation.
