Cordel Ladon Battle Obituary, Death; – A man from Madison County, who was incarcerated in Bessemer, was fatally injured on Wednesday. The Jefferson County Coroner has identified the victim as 30-year-old Cordel Ladon Battle, who was an inmate at the William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility.
Authorities report that Battle suffered “sharp force injuries” as a result of an alleged assault. He was serving a sentence for a first-degree robbery conviction from Madison County dating back to 2013. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently being investigated as a homicide.
