Connie Anthony Obituary – The investigation into the elderly couple found shot to death in their home has been concluded by the Americus Police Department (APD). WALB previously reported that the incident occurred on Sunday, June 16, when officers were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Appleblossom Lane for a welfare check.
Sumter County Deputy Coroner Mathis Wright confirmed that Connie Anthony, 68, was pronounced dead at around 11:20 a.m., and Clyde Anthony, 72, was pronounced dead at around 11:25 a.m. Following a thorough examination of the scene and discussions with family members, authorities have determined that Clyde Anthony shot and killed Connie Anthony before taking his own life.
The investigation has now been closed.
