Collin Pennell,Stephon Burdette Obituary, Death;- Two individuals who sustained injuries in a mobile home fire in Millcreek Township, which resulted in the deaths of two young men early Sunday morning, continued to receive medical care on Tuesday as investigators pursued the cause and origin of the blaze.
Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook identified the deceased as Collin Pennell, aged 20, and Stephon Burdette, aged 19, on Tuesday afternoon. Cook indicated that toxicology tests are being conducted on the victims, as is standard procedure for all fatalities resulting from fires.
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene of the fire, which was reported at 12:52 a.m. on Sunday at a mobile home located at 2730 Ganzer Lane, near West Ridge Road in Millcreek. The fire caused significant damage to the mobile home and also affected a neighboring property.
Two other occupants of the mobile home, a 57-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, were transported to UPMC Hamot following the incident. As of Tuesday, the woman remained hospitalized at UPMC Hamot, while the man had been transferred to a hospital in Pittsburgh, where he continued to receive treatment, according to authorities.
Investigations into the cause and origin of the fire were ongoing, conducted by Millcreek police and Pennsylvania State Police fire marshals. This incident marked the third fatal fire in the township this year.
