Colleen Lischwe Obituary, Death; – A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday morning when the head water polo coach at a private university in Missouri lost her life in a collision involving a jackknifed semitruck.
The Missouri Department of Transportation reported that the two-vehicle accident took place around 6 a.m. on Interstate 44, close to Vandeventer Avenue. A 34-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital following the incident.
The deceased was identified as Colleen Lischwe, who served as the head coach for both the men’s and women’s water polo teams at McKendree University in St. Clair County. According to the St. Louis police, the semitruck collided with the rear of Lischwe’s vehicle, causing it to veer off the interstate and onto Vandeventer Avenue.
The driver of the semitruck informed the police that he had looked down to grab a drink at the moment of the crash. When he glanced back up, he saw Lischwe’s Prius in front of him. It remains unclear whether the vehicle was stationary or in motion on the interstate at the time of the accident. Authorities indicated that a blood sample was taken from the semitruck driver. No further details have been disclosed.
