Two Coatesville adults are charged with third-degree murder and related counts for the fentanyl overdose death of their 8-year-old son last summer, prosecutors say.
Holly Back and Mousa Hawa are also charged with involuntary manslaughter, said the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities said they were called to the couple’s of East Lincoln Highway home last July 26 for a child in cardiac arrest. The 8-year-old victim was taken to Chester County Hospital and pronounced dead, officials said.
Analysis of his blood, urine, and hair later showed traces of fentanyl and cocaine, according to the DA’s Office.
Back is being held in lieu of a $1 million bond and Hawa is awaiting arraignment, prosecutors added.
