CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The City of Charlotte issued a warning to residents about a scam involving the city’s on-street parking program, Park It.
Officials say if you receive a text regarding an outstanding parking citation requesting payment, it is not from the city.
‘Park It’ has two methods of notifying residents of charges: a paper citation left on the vehicle windshield and a letter delivered via USPS if the citation remains unpaid after 15 days. The city will not send a payment link via text message.
Residents concerned about on-street parking citations can check through the city’s Park It web portal.
