Christopher Mozee Obituary – The victim who was fatally shot during a youth football game in Prince George’s County over the weekend has been identified by the police. Christopher Mozee, a 32-year-old father, was shot and killed at Potomac High School on Saturday. The incident occurred at around 11:20 a.m. on June 15 while Mozee was present at the school on Boydell Avenue. Tragically, the shooting took place close to children who were on the field and in the stands. Upon receiving a call about the incident, the police discovered Mozee seriously wounded in the bleachers.
Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to a hospital. Investigators have determined that the shooting occurred following a verbal argument and believe that Mozee was acquainted with the suspect. Prince George’s County Police Chief Malik Aziz stated, “The verbal altercation escalated into one individual producing a weapon and shooting that individual. He also shot another individual, a young person five years old.” Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the 5-year-old are not life-threatening, and the child is expected to recover.
The search for the suspect is currently underway, and a reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.
