Christopher D. Hagan Death – Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has identified the individual who was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer in the early hours of Saturday morning. The incident occurred near mile marker 79 on I-20 in Richland County on June 1st, at approximately 5:19 a.m.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the driver had come to a stop on the eastbound side of I-20 due to running out of gas in his GMC vehicle. A 2019 freight liner traveling in the same direction collided with both the driver, who had exited the GMC, and the vehicle itself.
Christopher D. Hagan, 38, of Lancaster, has been confirmed as the deceased by Coroner Rutherford. Coroner Rutherford has expressed the intention to collaborate closely with the South Carolina Highway Patrol in order to conduct a thorough investigation into this tragic incident.
