In a startling new interview, the daughter of the California school principal who committed suicide by jumping from a Disneyland building while reading a spooky suicide note revealed that the reason behind his decision was a “toxic” relationship with his “abusive” wife.
Two days before his scheduled court appearance on charges of child endangerment and violence, Christopher Christensen, 51, took the deadly leap on Saturday. Christensen had served as the elementary school administrator in Huntington Beach, California, for 22 years.
One of his three children from a former marriage, Brittany Christensen, 26, claimed in a recent interview with the Daily Mail that her present wife, Marlena, had been the violent partner and accused her of severing the family.
Brittany told the news source, “[Marlena] has been very difficult in our family for about the last year, and we haven’t had any contact with her.”
“I’ve only been in communication with [Chris] for the past two weeks, and it’s been amazing. She replied, “He’d been attempting to figure out how to get away from her.” “It appears to me that this was his thought process for ending the relationship.”
Following his arrest on November 15, Christensen entered a not guilty plea to the charges of child endeangerment and was granted $10,000 bail.
He attempted to downplay his marital issues with wife Marlena in a lengthy Facebook statement, blaming the “flawed” legal system for upending his life and stating that they “love and adore each other,” adding that their relationship was “amazing… up until recently.”
He clarified that they had just had a “heated argument” in front of Katelynn and Kara, his stepdaughters, but he maintained that he had not “hit, slapped, or hurt” either his wife or the girls.
Unfortunately, Marlena lost control of her rage that evening and called the police, which put me in jail that same evening. Yes, myself! “A man who has never in his life harmed or struck anyone!” the writer said.
After being married to Chris for three and a half years, Brittany said that Marlena had been “abusive to our entire family for five years” and that her testimony to police authorities was “riddled with lies.”
The daughter also provided the Daily Mail with a string of texts that Marlena is said to have sent her during a disagreement in April.
