Christopher Allen Lickteig Obituary, – Lawrence Police are currently conducting an investigation into a homicide that took place on Tuesday night at the intersection of E 25th Terrace and Franklin Road. The incident occurred after witnesses reported seeing two males engaged in a physical altercation. Upon arrival at the scene, a deputy from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office discovered both individuals on the ground, with one of them unconscious.
Despite the efforts of law enforcement and medical personnel, the 43-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, identified as George Luke Miller, was apprehended and taken to Lawrence Police Headquarters for questioning. He has since been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder. The victim has been identified as Christopher Allen Lickteig, and his next of kin have been notified.
The circumstances surrounding the incident, including the relationship between the two men, are still under investigation. At this point, detectives do not believe that any weapons were involved, and none were recovered at the scene. While several witnesses have already been interviewed, law enforcement will continue to gather evidence and follow leads to determine the events leading up to the incident.
