We are heartbroken to inform you that a Stoughton High School student was slain on Friday. Christian Cousins, SHS class of 2025, was fatally shot on July 5th while visiting Mattapan with another SHS student. The second student was also shot, although the injuries were not life-threatening. For the time being, the second student’s identity will not be revealed.

It is never easy to deal with the death of a pupil, especially in these circumstances. Our thoughts are with Christian’s family, friends, teachers, and the whole Stoughton High community. In addition, we are thinking about the other SHS student, as well as their family and friends. The SHS Crisis Team will meet, and more information for the SHS community, including information about SHS student services, will be made available following the meeting. This is a Boston Police investigation, and we will keep Stoughton families updated as we can.
