Chicago Police Report That After Shooting A Stabbing Suspect Dead, A Victim Was Hurt On The West Side- Chicago (WLS) — On Monday night, police in Chicago killed a knife-wielding suspect and injured a guy he was attacking on the West Side, according to police reports.
Approximately 11:10 p.m., while on patrol in the 300-block of South Cicero Avenue, officers reported witnessing a guy trying to knife another man in the roadway.
The guy persisted in his attack despite officers’ commands to put down the knife and defuse the situation, according to the police.
When the suspect refused to cooperate, according to the police, cops opened fire, striking both the guy and the victim. According to the officers, they helped the victim and offender right away.
After being taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, the suspect was declared dead, according to the police. His identification has not been made public by authorities.
According Chicago authorities, the victim was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital.
According to authorities, two cops were also sent to a hospital for observation.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability is now conducting an inquiry into the event. For a minimum of thirty days, the implicated officers will be assigned to administrative tasks.
