Chase Feaster,Alonzo Goffney Obituary, Death; – Four teenagers were arrested and charged on Wednesday morning in connection with a shooting in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, which resulted in the deaths of three young men and injuries to three others, as reported by the sheriff’s office.
The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office received reports of a shooting near Fredericksburg, specifically at the intersection of Olde Greenwich Drive and Lafayette Boulevard, around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered multiple victims at a townhouse complex, following what is now believed to have been an “illegal gun sale/robbery,” according to a news release issued on Wednesday morning. The shooting claimed the lives of three young men, with three others injured, including at least one 16-year-old suspect.
The department has identified two of the deceased as Chase Feaster and Alonzo Goffney, both 18 years old and residents of Spotsylvania County. The third victim, who was 20 years old, has not yet been publicly named pending confirmation from the medical examiner’s office.
Sheriff Roger Harris stated in a Facebook post that all suspects are in custody and assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to safety. Among the charged individuals, two are 16 years old, one is 17, and the fourth is 18-year-old Jeremiah Upson, as per the sheriff’s office.
One of the 16-year-olds is currently receiving treatment for a gunshot wound at a local hospital. All four suspects reside in proximity to Fredericksburg, with two hailing from Spotsylvania County and the other two from Caroline County, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office has charged the four teenagers with malicious wounding and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony unlawful assembly. According to deputies, three of the suspects are being held without bond, while the fourth will be detained following his discharge from the hospital.
“This is probably as bad as it could get,” remarked a deputy. Lianna Golden, a reporter with WTOP’s partners at 7News, noted that witnesses described the gunfire as sounding “like a ma.”
