FORT LAUNDERDALE, FL (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — Charlotte FC was in sunny Florida to take on Inter Miami FC at Chase Stadium on Sunday.
The team was coming off a shutout victory against southern rivals Atlanta United and was hoping to continue their win streak.
Miami’s Lionel Messi did not make an appearance during the match, but that did not halt the team’s strides. The first half of the match remained scoreless. Besides several fouls being called, including a red card on Miami’s goalkeeper, the first half was, for the most part, uneventful.
Shortly after the break, Inter Miami’s Tadeo Allende scored a goal with an assist from Luis Suárez. That goal would be the only one of the match.
The match ended with Miami victorious, 1-0.
Charlotte FC returns home to take on FC Cincinnati at Bank of America Stadium, starting at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 15.
