Scobey Newman has been a servant to the people of East Tennessee’s medical community for more than forty years, and he has devoted his entire life to following Jesus Christ. In the early 1990s, Scobey started working with Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services (HCEMS) on a part-time basis as a paramedic while he was also working full-time for Erlanger’s LifeForce air medical program. Scobey’s career as a pilot came to an end in 2009, and he subsequently began working full-time for HCEMS.
His work history includes service with Monroe County EMS, Knox County Ambulance Service, Rural Metro in Knoxville, East Tennessee EMS, Meigs County EMS, Bradley County EMS, Hutchison EMS, Life Guard Ambulance, Puckett EMS, Grandview EMS, Baptist Med Flight in Knoxville, Erlanger LifeForce, and Hamilton County EMS. He obtained his EMT license in 1978 and then his Paramedic license in 1981.
