Charles Jones Obituary – Jacksonville rapper Foolio, whose real name is Charles Jones, was fatally shot in Tampa on Sunday morning, as confirmed by his attorney.
Law enforcement responded to a hotel in uptown Tampa before dawn following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered two vehicles that had been targeted in the parking lot. Jones, the victim, was declared deceased by the Tampa Police Department. Three other individuals are currently in stable condition and are receiving medical attention.
Authorities are still investigating the reasons behind the shooting and are actively working to identify the individuals responsible. The night of the tragic incident, Jones was celebrating his birthday, as seen in footage he shared on his Instagram story. The 26-year-old rapper, with a million followers on the platform, had posted a video promoting a pool party on Saturday evening, inviting his followers to message him for the location.
Subsequently, he mentioned on social media that law enforcement had intervened and forced them to leave their Airbnb rental. According to his lawyer, Lewis Fusco, Jones then moved to a Holiday Inn, where he was reportedly ambushed in the parking lot.
In a separate Instagram story just hours before the shooting, Jones expressed gratitude to everyone who attended his birthday celebration. He also mentioned heading to a show and encouraged his followers to join him. In April, when announcing the release of his album “Resurrection,” Jones revealed that he had already survived multiple attempts on his life. Jones, who had nearly 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify at the time of his death, had been active in the music industry since 2015.
