Chad Wainscott Obituary – Kentucky State Police are currently conducting an investigation following the accidental shooting and death of a man inside a gun store. The incident was reported to KSP by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, which responded to a shooting at a gun store located at 1496 Whites Run Road at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, KSP officers found EMS assisting the victim, who was later identified as 50-year-old Chad Wainscott.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Wainscott passed away shortly after his arrival. According to KSP’s initial findings, the shooting occurred when another customer at the store was handling a firearm for sale, resulting in an unintentional discharge that struck Wainscott. The customer involved is cooperating with authorities, as are witnesses to the incident. At this time, no charges are anticipated, as law enforcement does not suspect any foul play. Kentucky State Police are spearheading the ongoing investigation.
